Our love that lasted 64 years – My Husband &Valentine Forever!

  1. To Linda and all of the family, may God our Father and Christ Jesus our Savior give you grace and peace.
I have a lifetime of memories of my lifelong friend. Harvey and I were born six days apart in Beaumont. We may have been delivered by the same doctor, Dr. Byrd. I was baptized in his Dad’s Church. The memory that is most vivid to me occurred a world away from Beaumont Texas. After graduating from Charlton-Pollard, I joined the Navy and my first duty assignment was in Yokosuka Japan. I was unaware that Harvey had also joined the Navy. One day as I was walking down the street in Yokosuka Japan I saw a familiar person approaching, it was Harvey. That chance meeting, a world away from home, was and is my most my cherished memory of my lifelong friend.
Rest in peace, my friend, I will see you soon, in another far away place.
