Yukue Bowman passed away amongst family and friends on March 2, 2013 in her Torrance home from Lung Cancer. She was a warrior and fought until the very end. Yukue Bowman was born January 7, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to Tamotsu Hozaki and Helen Elizabeth Myers. She is predeceased by her sister, Diana, and is survived by her parents, Tamotsu and stepmother Rose; her sister, Mary; the father of her children Daniel; her children, Raymond, Stephen, Lisa, and Warren, daughters in law Lauren and Jocelyn, son in law Alfredo, and her grandchildren; Raylyn, Alex, Mari, Justin, Syrus, Maitreya, Amala, Cattaleya, and a grandchild on the way. Yukue attended Leuzinger High School and El Camino College. She was employed by Hughes Aircraft, the Daily Breeze, Vons, and the Marriott. Any place she was employed she brightened the environment with her sparkling personality and radiant smile. Affectionately known by some of her co-workers as "Snow", she was always able to put everyone at ease with her beautiful, loving personality. She was the center of her family and always encouraged her family to be there for each other no matter how difficult life became. She always put family first. Yukue was a member of Sgi USA, and a proud member of the Cherokee Hummingbird Clan. She was as sweet as her favorite Chocolate Dobash cake, and loved cooking, drawing, making photo collages, going to Pow Wows, Sgi events, vacations, gardening, and camping. She was a down to earth woman with an enormous heart and a love for life, friends, and family. Her heart was so huge that she shared it with everyone. Yukue knew that even though her time on this earth was short, her family was taken care of and that she was loved so much that at the very end, she passed away eyes wide open, with a smile on her face.

  6. Hi Mary,

I was a childhood friend of Yukue. I think we were considered as best friends. I was thinking about her recently and found out that she had passed away 3 years ago. I am sad to hear of her passing at such a young age. My very belated condolences to you and the entire family.

    Yukue’s friend,
    Risa (Maeda)
