Sunrise December 1, 1921 Sunset May 7, 2018 Yolanda N. Grieger (Nickie) 96, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018 at her home in Redondo Beach, Ca. Mom was born on December 1, 1921 in El Paso, TX to Carl Nichols and Angela (Arruza). She moved to Gardena, Ca when she was around 6 years old. She graduated from Gardena High School in 1939. She met Dad in 1944 and they married in 1945. For over thirty years she worked at TRW originally hired when it was STL in Classified Material Control she reluctantly retired 1987. Our Mother’s greatest joy was her family. Her face lit up anytime you went over to visit. Her entire life was dedicated to giving love to all of us. She touched everyone she came in contact with in her 96 years. She loved watching sports of all kinds but most especially Tennis and Golf. She also enjoyed watching all of the bird activity in her yard and loved her rose garden. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Angela Sheridan, loving husband Charles A. Grieger, Sr., her son Charles A. Grieger, Jr. and her brothers Joe & Carl Nichols. She is survived by daughters Pamela Guthrie (Jim), Patricia Skifstrom (Ed) three Granddaughters, Kristine Spector (Scott), Sharon Hartwig, Amber Montgomery (Jeff) and Grandson Curtis Gabhart. Great Granddaughters, Lauren and Emily Spector, Alia Hartwig and Adrianna Valenzuela. She was also very fond of Niece Shelly Trite and Teresa Grieger. Mom was loved by many and will be so missed she was an amazing woman. We are so grateful we had her for so many years. Special thanks to Lini Naa for the love and devotion she gave to Mom for the last 11 years. They had a very special bond and Mom loved Lini very much. A memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Memorial & Receptions located at 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA at 11:30 am on Wednesday May 16, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
