Yoshiko Tanabe, a resident of Gardena, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Yoshiko was 84 when she died. She lived a vibrant life experiencing the Japanese Internment camp in Rohwer, Arkansas where she graduated high school, Cosmetology School in Chicago, Illinois and fulfilling her good taste and love of shopping with boutiques in hair salons. She retired from AT&T as a customer service operator. She will always be remembered as a caring wife and loving mother. Yoshiko is survived by daughters Deena Chouhdry of Kansas City, MO and Jana Hydro of Torrance, Ca. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Samuel and Micah Mori and Tianna and Rachel Hydro. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Tanabe, parents Kichiji and Teru Tomiyama, sister, Dorothy Akutagawa and brothers Mike and Chieki Tomiyama. The service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes on Friday, March 2 at 11:00 AM. It will be a gravesite service at Resurrection Slope #775. Burial will follow.
