William David Gilbert Sr. passed away the morning of January 2nd, 2012 in Sherwood, Arkansas. He was 72. He was known as Dave, Dad and papa by family and friends. He was born in Carthage, Missouri, but made his home in Torrance, California where he is being laid to rest. His passion was cooking, watching Western movies, USC football, and the boys in blue, the Dodgers. He also watched "All My Children" until the show ended last year. In his retirement years, he was the "Babes" sitter. He was a family man. He loved his wife and children. He adored his grandchildren. He was there for his family no matter the situation, often sacrificing his wants and needs for his family. But it didn't stop there because he was always there for others at well. He was thought of and loved by all. He is survived by his wife, Judy, and his three children, Dave, Kelly and Darrell. Also his Mother Ina, his grandchildren, brothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dave was not just a dear friend, but a father I respected and looked up to while growing up, and I will miss him dearly.
