William D. Hester

William ''Dale'' Hester, age ninety-four, died New Years Day, after a full and happy life. Mr. Hester was born in Bowen, Ill, on November 7, 1910. After graduating from High School in 1928, he moved to California and lived in Visalia where he attended junior college. In Oakland, he met and married Erdine Butler, in 1941, where they resided for many years and raised three children. Dale and Erdine moved to Torrance in 1999 to be closer to their family. Dale is survived and will be missed by Erdine, his wife of 63 years, by his sons David, San Francisco, CA. and Gene (Sheri) Torrance, CA; his daughter, Suzanne (Willie) Brocato, Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren Chrisitine (Brent) Forrester, Visalia, CA; Shannon (Norm) Ueunten, Folsom, CA; Alison Hester, Visalia, CA; Kelly (John) Shortley, San Diego, CA; Brian (Reyna) Hester, Tempe, AZ; and Julie Hester, Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by nine loving great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Boulevard, Torrance, CA, with reception following at the home of Gene Hester, 21606 Redbeam Avenue, Torrance, CA.
