William Bernstein

William (Bill) Bernstein passed away on December 21, 2014 in Torrance, CA, surrounded by his family. Bill was born July 30, 1932 in Los Angeles, and was a Torrance resident for the past 47 years, beginning in 1967, when he started working for Bullock's in the newly built Del Amo Mall. He continued to work in various retail and wholesale positions until he retired in 1995. Bill's life outside of work was one of complete devotion to his family, and especially to his wife, Ann. They were married for 60 years, and he cherished her and was her lifelong protector, her partner, and her very best friend. Bill is also survived by his daughters Cindy (Jerry) Calisher, Donna (Darrel) Cessor and Lisa Branson; grandchildren Mike, Brice, Joshua, David, and Linzy. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Maurice and many other relatives and friends. Service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Sunday, December 28th at 10:00 am with reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
