WILLIAM A. GREENOUGH, JR WILLIAM ALTON GREENOUGH, JR PASSED AWAY ON OCTOBER 22, 2008, AFTER NEARLY A ONE YEAR BATTLE WITH BLADDER CANCER. HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS GRANDMOTHER ANITA MENARD AND HIS STEPMOTHER SHEILA GREENOUGH. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS MOTHER RITA DICKEY OF SAN PEDRO, SISTER PAULETTE GREENOUGH OF HOUSTON, TX, BROTHERS RICHARD GREENOUGH AND DANIEL R. RUSSELL (LISA).HE WAS ALSO BLESSED WITH HIS NIECE DANIELLA L. RUSSELL, NEPHEWS JACOB AND DANIEL RUSSELL. HE ALSO LEAVES HIS AUNTS, UNCLES, AND MANY COUSINS ON THE EAST COAST. KNOWN TO ALL AS BILL HE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A DEDICATED, LOYAL, UNSELFISH, SELF-SACRIFICING CHRISTIAN MAN, AND MOST OF ALL SOMEONE YOU COULD ALWAYS COUNT ON. BORN ON JANUARY 7, 1956 BILL WAS RAISED IN A SMALL TOWN IN TAUTON, MA. HE ARRIVED TO THE SAN PEDRO, CA AREA WITH HIS FAMILY IN 1971. BILL WAS A DEDICATED AND LOYAL MEMBER OF BAYVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH FOR OVER 20 YEARS. HE LEAVES HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF BAYVIEW IN THE LORDS HANDS. HE WAS ALSO A TORRANCE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEE FOR NEARLY 8 YEARS. WHETHER HE WAS OUT DRIVING HIS CART ON THE GROUNDS HE WAS ALWAYS THERE TO LEND A HELPING HAND TO STUDENTS AND CO WORKERS, HE LEAVES BEHIND THERE MANY GOOD FRIENDS. BILL WAS A MAN OF GREAT ENDURING STRENGTH WHO PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HOME WITH HIS MOTHER RITA AND HIS BROTHERS "RICKY" & DANNY & LISA by his side. PLEASE JOIN US FOR VIEWING ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 31ST, 2008 FROM 5-9 P.M.- RICE MORTUARY 5310 TORRANCE BLVD, TORRANCE, CA. FUNERAL MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1ST, 2008 AT 6 P.M. HIS WISHES ARE TO BE CREMATED. SPECIAL THANK YOU TO TORRANCE MEMORIAL HOSPICE TEAM-MARY, MARIA, LUCY, DONNA, DANA, DR.HUMPHRIES AND EVERYONE THERE WHO TOUCHED OUR LIVES WITH YOUR CARING AND COMPASSIONATE WAYS WITH BILL IN HIS LAST WEEKS WITH US.
