Manly, Willard Clel a 55 year resident of Redondo Beach , passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2002 in Torrance. Born in Early, Iowa, Willard was 83 when he died.Willard had served in the Navy during World War II. He is survived by Wife, Muriel Manly of Redondo Beach, Son,Scott (Sunnie) Manly of Hermosa Beach, Son, Richard(Robin) Manly of Altadena; Sister, Betty Andrews of Riverside, Sister, Elva Hooker of Highland, Sister, Lorraine Perry of Sac City, Iowa; Granddaughter, Erin Manly of Hermosa Beach, Granddaughter, Heather Manly of Hermosa Beach, Grandson, Joshua Manly of Altadena, Granddaughter, Katherine Manly of Altadena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern California Lion Eye Institute in care of Jim Reinhardt, 22708 Crosshill Ave., Torrance, 90505. Services will be private.

  1. Sorry to read about his passing. I first met Willard in 1935, when he he was helping Lincoln, his grandfather, with the stormwindows on my parent\’s home. He was ahead of me in school, but I knew his sisters and others of the family. I visited with him in the several Chevy dealers where he worked, and bought several cars from him. I have only the kindest regards for him and send my condolences to the family.

  5. It was an honor to know Wil during the few years I worked at Martin Chevrolet. He always had a smile with a “top of the day” greeting. And his stories about the “good old days” always brought a laugh to everyone around. He will be missed.

  6. Known Will for about 50 years. Bought my first car from him and many after that. I considered him not just a salesman, but a friend. May his memory be eternal.

  7. I consider myself fortunate to have worked with Will for 12 years at Martin Chevrolet. He was one of a kind in both his personal and business life. He will be missed by all that knew him.
