Schumacher, Wanda Mae, a 49 year resident of Hawthorne, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 in Inglewood. Born in Pennsylvania, Wanda was 73 when she died. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to do crafts, floral arranging and gardening. She was an avid sport fisherwoman and she loved the Pittsburg Steelers and Pittsburg Pirates. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Sally “Jeannie” (Gregory) Goltz of Covina, CA; daughter, Vicky Aliabadi of Santa Monica, CA; son, James Case of Valinda, CA; daughter, Linda Case of Blaine, WA; daughter, Gloria (Gregory) Jones of Hawthorne, CA; partner of 24 years, Ronald Smith of Hawthorne, CA; aunt, Creddwyn "Toots" Bartlett of Unity Township, PA; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Campbell and Helen Painter; stepfather Edward Painter; and daughter, Sandra Mazure. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Pacific Crest Chapel in Redondo Beach on Friday February 11, 2011 from 11am to 1pm. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery. And a Celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at The American Legion in Hawthorne, CA, Post 314, 14124 Prairie Avenue, immediately following the services. No monetary gifts please.
