WALTER RICHMOND HAYDEN 12/19/14-11/23/09 Walt was born to John and Dorothy Hayden on December 19, 1914 in Duncan Mills, CA. After graduation from high school in Santa Rosa, CA, Walt joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, where he worked in various Northern California locations. In the late 30's Walt moved to Southern California, where he became involved in several fraternal organizations, joining the Redondo Beach Masonic Lodge in 1940 and the Shriners in 1945. It was during this time that he met Doris Poole at a Masonic picnic. The two were married in May 1941. Shortly after their marriage, Walt began a 40-year career with North American Aviation. After his retirement the two traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and made many trips with the Masons. Walt was a loving and caring man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Doris, two nieces, Janet Mailer Young (Arch) and Barbara Sutera, and two nephews, Tom Schaper (Kathy) and Bob Mailer (Linda). Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at White & Day Mortuary, 901 Torrance Boulevard, Redondo Beach, CA, with interment immediately following at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S.
