Vincent Anthony Costanza (aka Jim), a 58 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2006. He was born in Agregiento (Sicily) Italy 93 years ago. He served during World War II in the Army. Vincent was a barber for almost 70 years beginning at the age of 12. As barber of the Lakers in the 60’s and 70’s he loved his basketball. His true passions consisted of his family, gardening and cooking. He is survived by daughters, Anna Maria Shoemaker, Nena Garcia, Maryann Costanza, grandchildren Daniel and Alisha, 3 grand dogs and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Ann Costanza.

  1. Hi, grandpa. I miss you! I miss you cutting me cantaloupe or making your famous almond toffee. It’s still popularly known in our house as grandpa candy. I am expecting a little boy in September and will be naming his middle name in memory of you. Sending hugs and love to heaven, because that’s the only place you could have gone.
