Victor A. Valdez "Lefty" Passed away in his sleep on June 6, 2007 in Gardena, CA at the age of 79 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Jerome, AZ on September 5, 1927 and was the tenth of eleven children. After High School graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Aurelia in 1950. Victor entered the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with honor and distinction. After serving his country, Victor opened his own auto repair business. He sold his business and eventually moved to Southern California settling in Gardena. Victor was active in several youth groups including the Boy Scouts, YMCA and local Little League. As a Master Mechanic for several years, he worked for several major General Motors dealerships including Fletcher Jones and Cormier Chevrolet. He eventually became a State Smog Inspector. Upon retirement he enjoyed NASCAR Racing Events. Victor is survived by his wife Aurelia of 56 years, sons, Victor (Darlene), Tom (Linda), Daniel (Valorie) and daughter May Museborn (Tom). 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He has several nieces and nephews and various family living throughout Southern Calif. Memorial Service will be held on Monday June 11, 2007, 12 Noon at Pacific Crest Cemetery, Redondo Beach, CA. A special acknowledgment to Little Company of Mary Trinity Hospice and to all the Doctors and Medical Staff that assisted Mr. Victor Valdez. May he be received by the hands of the Lord with dignity.
