Vera N. Wafer Passed away peacefully in Torrance, CA on November 10th, 2005, just a few weeks after her 86th birthday. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 14, 1919. Vera and her husband Tom moved to California in 1946 and purchased a house in West Los Angeles. Tom passed away in 1972 but Vera continued to live on the Westside until 1998 when she moved to Manhattan Beach to be close to her sons. Vera was a cost analyst in the aerospace industry working for Douglas Aircraft, McDonnell-Douglas and the Rockwell Corp. for over forty years. She retired in 1986. Two sons, Thomas J. Wafer, JR of Rolling Hills Estates and Paul E. Wafer of Manhattan Beach and two daughters survive her, Kathleen A. Wafer of Atascadero, CA and Laura L. Warren of London, KY. Eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive her. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Chapel-Holy Cross Cemetery on November 16, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. followed by entombment.
