Botiller, Ursula Frances "Rusty" On Saturday, May 6, 2006, Rusty left this world behind to enter life eternal. She is reunited with her father, her mother and adoptive father, her parents-in-law, and her daughter Barbara. Rejoicing for and missing her are her beloved and devoted husband, Barney, her daughter Ursula Rij, and her son Ted (Carla) Botiller; her grandchildren Jasun (Zrinka) Botiller, Ben and Jon Botiller, and Anna and Jerry Rij. She is also survived by her sisters Mary (Don) Hardy and Joan Serrato, her brother Joseph (Lois) McDermott, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born October 23, 1930 in New York City. A move, at age 7, with her mother to Inglewood, CA allowed her to meet and marry the love of her life, Barney Botiller. In August 1950, Rusty willingly gave up her young girl dreams for the real life roles of wife and mother. At these she excelled. Together they raised three children: Ursula, Barbara, and Ted. The family has been parish members of American Martyrs Church since 1955. From their Manhattan Beach home of 46 years, Rusty enjoyed Pacific sunsets with her husband of 56 years. She was a lover of growing things, especially children and flowers. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the American Martyrs Catholic Church on 15th Street in Manhattan Beach with a reception immediately following. Her family respectfully suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to aid God's children at: Downtown Women's Center, 325 S. Los Angeles St., Los Angeles, CA 90013.
