Thomas Charles (Tommy) Morgan, son of Margaret C. (Peggy) Morgan and the late Eric Morgan, grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Stephen V. Collins of Corning, N.Y., and brother of Stephen E. Morgan, died unexpectedly on Wednesday July 16th, 2008. He was named for his paternal grandfather, Tommy Morgan, a well-known Scots comedian and entertainer. Tommy was proud to be a Loyola Cub, having graduated from Loyola High School and a Cal Bear, holding degrees in English and History from Cal Berkeley where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was also a graduate of Loyola Law School and practiced law for 18 years in Los Angeles. Tommy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a legion of friends. He loved living at the beach and being a loyal customer of Critters, his favorite beach haunt. Donations to Loyola High School in his memory would be most appreciated. A memorial Mass to celebrate Tommy's life will be held at Loyola High School, 1901 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90006, at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Guestbook

  1. Mrs. Morgan, Steve and family: My family and I send our condolences. Tommy was great young man. He will be missed.

  2. Dear Peggy and Steven – Very sad to hear about Tommy. I was just remembering he and I working together on those shows in high school (also remembering Eric’s helping me w/ Hotspur). I have thought of you all so often over the years. Chicago is very far away, but if there’s anything I can do. XO – Matt Conlon

  3. The Stallings Family sends their condolences. I feel lucky to have run into Tommy last summer in Manhattan Beach while I was visiting my family. A class act from a great family! Your humor will be missed. Kinds thoughts and good vibes to his family and friends! Peace, love, and aloha, JWS

  4. I heard this sad news today from Matt Conlon. Although it’s been nearly 30 years since I knew Tommy through the plays at Loyola, my memory of him is still clear and bright. A truly bighearted, talented, funny, wonderful guy, as was his dad Eric. My heart and my prayers go out to his mother, family and many friends. Godspeed.

  5. Dear Mrs. Morgan, Steve and family, Your are in the Maguire Clan’s thoughts and prayers. We are so proud to have known Tommy as a Loyola Club and a California Golden Bear. God takes some of his finest at an early age and this is surely the case with Tommy. We know he is smiling down on us from heaven with that wonderful grin of his. Much love, Kathleen

  6. Dear Family, after reading the obituary of your loved one Tommy I felt the need to share a few words. I am a member of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest California. If I may I would like to share something from Gods word: And the peace of God, which surpases all comprehension, shall guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus….Philippians 4:7 May you be bless today by His word and by the loving memory of your loved one. God Bless you all….Rachel Perez, Laguna Niguel California

  7. Tommy was such a genuine guy — such a great guy. I didn’t see him much since we left Cal, but I always thought he was one of the best. The world is diminished.
