Thelma
Thelma Louise (Ely) Klobucar, born June 30, 1929 in Hawthorne, ascended to Heaven on May 10, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. A resident of Torrance since 1956, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Walter, grandson Tony Klobucar, parents Jessie and Lillie Ely, 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her son Tony (Tina) of Beatty, OR and daughters Deborah (Daniel) Oldes of Colorado Springs, CO and Angelique (Robert) Bull of Torrance; grandchildren Ronda Klobucar, Marsha (Joe) Perry, Brandon (Sara) Klobucar, Cynthia (Tedd) Smith, Katrina (Aaron) Langevin, Katelyn and Allison Bull; 13 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Thelma loved the Lord and was a long time member of the Evangelical Free Church of Redondo Beach. She was a regular on the South Bay bingo circuit, usually playing at least 3 days per week. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, playing mah jong and spoiling her adoring family. In 1986 Thelma retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft after 30 years of service. A gathering of family and friends will be held at White & Day Colonial Chapel on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church of Redondo Beach, 101 South Pacific Coast Highway, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Burial will immediately follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach with a reception following the graveside service. Thelma was a wonderful, loving, special woman and will always be in our hearts. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
