Resided in: Torrance, California

Terri Sue Lewis, age 60, of Torrance, California, passed away on October 31, 2023, in Torrance, California. She was born on May 13, 1963, in Harbor City, California, to the late Robert Irl Blevins and Ruth Maxine Blevins. Terri was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

She had a vibrant personality and was known for her fun-loving and outgoing nature. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining, always ensuring that her loved ones were well taken care of. Despite facing numerous health challenges throughout her life, including Hodgkin’s Disease at the age of 18, a heart transplant in 2010, and Pulmonary Fibrosis throughout her life, Terri remained resilient and never complained.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Dana Lewis of Torrance; her son Tim Lonberger and his wife Mari of Gardena, along with their children Luke, Olivia, and Reid; stepsons Tod Andrews and his wife Miranda of Lockhart, Texas, and their children Bentley, Boston, and Raegan; and Gary Lewis with his wife Lauren of Ft. Worth, Texas, and their newborn baby Juniper Rose Lewis.

Terri grew up spending many years at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Terri’s mother Ruth was extremely involved with the church serving many different roles, so it was natural that Terri participated in many of the church’s activities. Growing up in the church, Terri was able to create so many lifelong relationships through the different activities the church offered.

Terri went to school locally in her city of Torrance and graduated from West Torrance High School in 1981. She later served on the West High Reunion Committee later with many of her high school friends. One of the key subjects she majored in was nursing, taking classes at SCROC, as well as volunteering over at Kaiser Hospital. This is where she found her passion for what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.

She had a successful career in the medical field, working in nursing and healthcare from 1981 to 2010. She also served as a medical compliance professional at Herbalife International from 2011 to 2013. Terri’s dedication to her work and her caring nature made a significant impact on those she worked with and served.

Terri loved to cook and entertain. She was always known throughout their circle of friends as a wonderful hostess and “The Jello Shot Queen”. She would come up with all kinds of different concoctions of Jello and alcohol recipes which tended to liven up the party. Her, along with her husband Dana would throw at least 2-3 parties a year in which they would easily have 40-50 people in attendance. Whether it was their End of Summer Party, a Christmas party, a Super Bowl party, or someone’s birthday event, everyone attending could always count on having a good time.

A memorial service to celebrate Terri’s life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions – Rice Center, located at 5310 Torrance Blvd., in Torrance. Following the service, a brief graveside service will take place at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, followed by a Celebration of Terri’s Life back at the family home in Torrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Donate for Life, California, in memory of Terri.

Terri will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the absolute Love of her husband Dana’s life. Her feisty spirit, caring nature, and unwavering strength will forever be cherished in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
