Terry O'Donnell, a life-long resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2008. He was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and served in the United States Navy before finishing college. He taught Art at El Camino College, Torrance, for 36 years and surfed the South Bay beaches for most of his life. In 1974, he was commissioned to sculpt a bust of George Freeth, which now stands at the base of the Redondo Beach Pier. Terry's passions were Art, Surfing, building his hot rod and laughing with his family and friends. He is survived by wife of 42 years, Cathy of Redondo Beach; Daughters Timi (Michael) Rider of Anacortes, WA; Kelly Graham of Redondo Beach, CA; and four grandchildren; Erin, Emily, Jonah, and Sarah. A Memorial Service will be held at the El Camino College Fine Arts Gallery in Torrance on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 11:00 am.
