Leach, Sydna 1918-2008 It is with deep sadness the passing of Sydna Leach at the age of 90 on December 20, 2008 in Torrance, CA. She was born in Springfield, MO and was very proud to be from "The Show-Me" state. Sydna was a resident of the South Bay for 67 years and employed in retail clothing sales for many years within the South Bay area. Upon retirement, due to a health problem, she enjoyed more time with family and friends. During this time she could work on her "craft projects" such as needlepoint, sewing and beautiful Christmas ornaments. Sydna was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 1995. She is survived by daughter Roberta Rhind, son-in-law, John Rhind; grandsons, Jeffrey (Ernestina) Rhind, Michael (Mayela) Rhind; brother Richard (Mary) Murphy of Missouri; step-great grandsons, Carlos and Daniel; numerous nieces and nephews. Sydna will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved her and will cherish memories of her forever. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Sydna's name can be made to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or Charity of choice. Private chapel service and graveside interment was held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, CA.

  1. Our family and I were so sorry to hear of Synda’s passing. My mom, Betty Fitzgerald, worked with her at Sally’s in Redondo Beach for many years. She was such a wonderful person with an unforgetable sense of humor, we always had so much fun when she was around. We all send our condolences to her family.

  2. I worked with Sudna at Little Folk Shop for a time, and really enjoyed getting to know her. She was funny and sensible, and I liked her a lot. My condolences to her family. Karen Harper
