Susan Shigeko Imamura, a long time resident of Torrance, CA passed away on December 17th, 2009 at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, CA. Susan was born in Honolulu, HI on January 18th, 1949 and has resided in the Los Angeles area for the last 39 years. Susan was a proud graduate of Castle High School in Kaneohe, HI and worked in the Community Development Department of the City of Gardena, CA for over 20 years. She was a loving, helpful, creative and supportive person who had many friends. She is survived by her husband Bernie, daughters Anne and Alison, mother Misao Aoki, sisters Janice, Joyce and brother Gordon. A private celebration of her life will be held with family and friends.

Although we haven’t kept in touch over the past few years we remember all of you with fondness. Susan was a caring, happy, and loving wife and mother.   2. Dear Mr. Imamura, Annie and Ali: I was extremely saddened to hear of the loss of your wife and mother. As heartbroken as you all surely are, please take comfort knowing that she is finally free of pain and that her soul enjoys the freedom to soar, whether to the Big Island or a Vegas casino. This is but a temporary separation – you will be together again. Your Mother is still very much with you; she resides in your hearts and memories. Speak lovingly of her often — she will hear.   4. Bernie, Allison & Annie, I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was one of the greatest people to ever walk this earth. I miss her. I use to work with her at the City of Gardena from 2002-2003. I would call to talk to her from time to time, and i enjoy all our talks so much. I called in April, after trying for so many months to get a hold of her, sadly i was given the news that she was gone. I cant even begin to tell you how bad i miss her, im sure you miss her far more, but she was everything and more one could want in a friend. I miss her so much. Its like there is now a void where she was in my life. I am so sorry that she had to go through this. I am so sorry you had to go through this. I miss her so much.
