MOGCK, Stella Johanna passed away July 3, 2001 at the age of 82. She was born February 22, 1919 on a farm near Parkston, South Dakota and has been a resident of Westchester since 1941. Stella is survived by loving husband Theophil (Ted) with whom she shared a 60th wedding anniversary on May 31st. She is also survived by sons, James and his wife Mary of Lakewood, Robert and Donald both of Westchester; half-sister Delores Brunken of Tripp, S.D.; step-brother Arnold Lindeman of Riverside; four grandchildren David, Pamela, Teresa and her husband Daniel, and Jacqueline and her husband Kevin and four great-grandchildren Lucas, Kaila, Rachel, and Nathan. She was preceded in death by daughter Jeannette Lenhart and sisters Elta Nickles and Verna Kain. Stella graduated high school in 1936 from Parkston H.S. in Parkston, S.D. She then acquired the two year training needed to teach at a rural schoolhouse. She taught 8 grades in a one room schoolhouse in South Dakota for three years. In South Dakota is where Stella met her husband Ted, and they moved to California. After raising four children, Stella volunteered and took a position with the Airport Marina Counseling Service in Westchester. She served as a volunteer coordinator for more than 20 years. Since 1948 she has been a member of the Westchester United Methodist Church where she has held many leadership positions and tirelessly volunteered. She had recently learned to use the internet as an additional means of communication. Stella touched many lives and will be remembered by all. She was an endless source of love, strength, and kindness to her family and friends near and far. Stella was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Westchester United Methodist Church, 8065 Emerson Ave., Westchester, CA.
