Sr. Lydia
Sandoval, Sr. Lydia, C.S.J., passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Los Angeles. Born September 29, 1939 in San Ysidro, New Mexico, a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since March 19, 1959. Sister Lydia served for 16 years as a primary grade teacher at several Catholic Schools in the greater Los Angeles area, San Diego and Banning. For the last seven years she has been a primary classroom assistant at St. Brendan's School in Los Angeles. Previously, she served at Villa Maria House of Prayer in La Habra, St. John Vianney Parish in Hacienda Heights, and at Stuart Hall for Boys in San Francisco. She is survived by her sisters, Connie Serna, Dolores Gonzales and Shirley Avilia; and brothers, George, Sisto, Eugene and Philip Sandoval. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Raquel Sandoval and siblings, Valderio, Gilbert, Margaret and Mary Ann Sandoval. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10AM at St. Brendan Church, Los Angeles with committal service immediately following in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City.   1. Sister Lydia was such a loving and caring person. She will be dearly missed by so many, especially the St Brendan Family. May she rest in peace now. She is in Heaven with God and my deepest sympathies to her family and her Community. I know I will always keep her close in my heart and prayers.
