Sister Mary Williams

Sister Mary Williams, C.S.J. age 92, passed away on Sunday July 31, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. Born May 31,1930 in Pasco, Washington, a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since March 19, 1955.

Graduating from College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sister Mary spent a year in France as a Fulbright Scholarship recipient, returning to teach high school in Pasco Washington before entering God’s service.

Sister Mary was a beloved high school and college teacher with a passion for learning. Of her many years of teaching at Mount Saint Mary’s University, she wrote “I tried to share my cultural and personal growth with my students.”

She is survived by her sister Jane Pugel, many nieces, nephews and their families.

A Memorial Service via Zoom will be held in September.
