Shakuntala
Shakuntala Naidu (1933-2010) Shakuntala Naidu, an 11 year resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 in San Pedro at age 77. Born in India, Shakuntala earned her Bachelor's degree in English, History and Political Science. Her personal interests included listening to devotional music, reading classics, cooking, story-telling, cross-stitching, solving puzzles and mathematical problems. Her civic activities focused on Women's welfare and rehabilitation, social services, adult education and occupational therapy. Shakuntala is survived by daughters, Ajanta Naidu, Pushpa Parekh, and Madhu Berman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samanna Naidu. The Service will be held at Pacific Crest Cemetery on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM followed by a reception at Rice Mortuary from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

  1. Dear Dr. Parekh, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I know there will be a void in your heart for some time however the emptiness will be filled with the loving memories, life lessons and love your mother has shared with your during her lifetime.
