In Memory of Serjio
We not merely mourn the passing of our beloved Serjio, but also honor and celebrate the life of a loving father and husband, a stead and constant friend, and a unique and engaging soul!
Sergio was a remarkable individual, with an exuberant passion for living, who possessed a great, intense connection to the vast range of human experience, that makes our miraculous and mysterious journey through life on Earth the wondrous and complex tapestry that it is!
He possessed a spirit so boundless and extraordinary, that this life could not confine it . . . a soul rich with such varying layers and depths that no mere human language could define it!
Serjio was a man wise beyond his years - a dynamic and engaged observer and actor on the great stage of human action . . . and he inherently understood the beauty, the tragedy, and the great sanctity of life . . . and he lived it with an uncommon flare, and an unbounded enthusiasm, vigor, commitment, and appreciation for all of it.
Whether it was starting out his early life in El Paso, Texas, or moving to Los Angeles and Echo Park in his early teens . . . or his many occupational and entrepreneurial ventures, SErjio was truly a journey of discovery, of challenge, and of achievement!
With his beloved wife Blanca at his side, Serjio set out and build a rich and fulfilling life filled with a diverse and notable record of accomplishment, beautiful and successful children, a loving and devoted extended family, and many, many loyal and life-long friends from every walk of life.
Serjio was a sensitive man, who was also a tireless and ferocious worker, and possessed a warrior's spirit when faced with challenges and adversity . . . especially when facing his greatest adversary - Cancer.
But through it all - through all the years, throughout the many battles fought (whether won or lost), he never lost touch with his deep and abiding faith, his unwavering love of family and friends, and all the good things that meant so much to him as he traversed the many paths he was meant to encounter on his remarkable journey through this world.
Let us always remember and celebrate his laughter, his entertaining stories, his unique and sensitive intellect, and his great courage and wisdom!
He will be sorely missed by his devoted and loving wife, Blanca; his creative and successful son, Andy; and his accomplished, angelic daughter, Natalie . . . and he will be greatly missed by all the rest of us who also loved him for all he was, and for all he contributed, with such style and genuineness of character, to all of our lives!
We will always love you, dear Serjio - and we will never forget the gift that was your life! The battles are all over; the cup has been filled and drunk to the lees. Your spirit lives on in us all, and your soul has returned to the Heaven that is its home! You are now reunited with all those family members and friends you loved so much, and lost so long ago!
Rest well, dear Serjio! God bless you, and thank you for all you did, for all you meant to us, and for all you were and are!
We deeply mourn your loss, but celebrate your life here with us on Earth! Now, Heaven has been made more beautiful with your arrival - and Heaven is the luckier!
Your Friend and Brother,
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
But remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smile,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
My going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
So, dry your eyes and remember me.
Not as I am now, but as I used to be.
I will remember you and look on with a smile.
Understand, in your hearts,
I’ve only gone to rest a little while.
As long as I have the love of each of you,
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.
