Sam was a long time resident of Venice, CA and a dedicated parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church for 47 years. Sam is survived by his wife of 57+ years, Helen Marie, their six children: Lorenzo, Gina, Daniel, Theresa, Katherine and Thomas and their spouses, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. Sam is also survived by his older sister Mary Amentini. Sam will join his other sister, Theresa Vacarro in heaven as well as his son-in-law, John Masero. Sam is also survived by his many other family members and wonderful friends. Sam loved his family first and foremost and considered them his richest blessing in this lifetime. Sam in his younger days was a Sergeant in the Marines, he loved playing the bass, loved to golf and garden, but most of all Sam loved to make people laugh with all his jokes and stories. Sam was a faithful servant and warrior for Christ. The Services for Sam were held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Venice, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Helen Liberto who will put it towards the many organizations that Sam was a part of and passionate about: Eucharistic services for the patients at Marina Mercy Hospital; Meals on Wheels; Cursillo, and others.

  1. My Papa was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his big blue eyes, and most of all his incredibly huge heart. He loved all of us grandkids to the ends of the earth, and I will always remember him as one of the most wonderful people in my life.
    Love always.
