Fields, Ruth Marion, a 56 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2006 in Harbor City. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Ruth was 78 when she died. Ruth was a member of Anza Elementary School PTA, receiving the PTA Lifetime Award. She was also a member of the Mother Singers and was in a Bowling League. She ran the Savings Stamp Books for Bonds program, Kidnap Breakfasts, and Bingo Parties. Ruth worked as a Carhop at Clock's Drive In, and as a Chuckwagon waitress at Jump-n-Jack Chuckwagon Restaurant. Her interests were her yard, travelling, and her children. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. Ruth was a fan of the "old" Dodgers. She is survived by her Husband, Herman Fields of Torrance, CA; Daughter, Robin Fields; Daughter, Sandy Fields of Torrance, CA; Granddaughter, Alyssa Fields of Torrance, CA. She was preceded in death by her Father, Royal Hasse and her Mother, Marvel Hasse. A Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Saturday September 16, 2006 at 10am, followed by a Gathering in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 1pm. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center (2085 Adelbert Road, Room 419; Cleveland, Ohio).
