Villamil, Rudy a resident of Yorba Linda and formerly of Lawndale, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2002 in Los Angeles. Mr. Villamil was born in the Philippines on May 28, 1940. After moving to California, he worked for many years as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry. Mr. Villamil is survived by his wife, Cristina Villamil of Yorba Linda; sons, Rommel (Mel) Villamil of Chino Hills, Jun Villamil of Lawndale, and Erik Villamil of Lawndale; sister, Virginia Valderrama of El Segundo; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 7, 2002 from 4 to 9 p.m. at White and Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA and services will be at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 3846 W. Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance, CA. on Friday, February 8, 2002 at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
