MARQUEZ, RUBEN C. of Manhattan Beach passed away December 16, 2003, at the age of 56. A native Californian he lived most of his life throughout California, only leaving to work in Arizona, Florida, Washington, DC for six years and when he was in the service as a helicopter gunner in the Viet Nam War. Ruben worked for various airlines for over thirty years, the last 23 years for PSA/USAirways. His great loves were goofing off with his daughters, World traveling, relaxing in the Sun with a good beer, walking his dog Rosie and work. His youthful attitude will be missed by his wife Victoria A. Schmierer-Marquez, daughters Sky and Grace Marquez of Manhattan Beach, Noel (Ed) Perry of Apple Valley, Grandchildren Eddie and Raven Perry of Apple Valley and loved ones. A celebration of his life and a reception will be held and his ashes will be scattered in Hawaii at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the City of Hope or a charity of your choice.
