It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosmarie Roberson on February 1, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and pure kindness that will forever be cherished by the many lives she touched.

Born January 9, 1939 in Switzerland, she was the eldest of eight children. She emigrated to the United States in 1961 after learning English as an au pair in London. She arrived in Ohio where she married, then set out for California where she spent the next sixty years cherishing the natural beauty of a state she loved. Rosmarie was a beacon of optimism, embracing each day with gratitude and compassion. She is survived by her two children, Noel Thevenet and Jason Roberson, and her granddaughter Eloise Thevenet, as well as five siblings in Switzerland and her many nieces and nephews.

Rosmarie’s culinary talents were renowned around the peninsula. Her delicious cooking and impeccable catering brought joy to countless gatherings and celebrations. She passed on her talents to neighborhood children and adults teaching cooking classes out of her home. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the kitchen as she embraced the roles of nanny and caregiver with unwavering devotion.

Rosmarie’s legacy of love and kindness will endure in the minds of many. She gave her time as a local school aide, a docent for the Torrance Courthouse, a member of Las Primeras Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Marine Mammal Care Center, a testament to the profound impact she had on the lives of all who knew her.

An intimate celebration of Rosmarie’s life will be held February 10th with her loved ones.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Marine Mammal Care Center or the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy in Rosmarie’s honor.

Rest in peace, dear Rosmarie, the heavens reserve a special place for you. Your memory will forever be cherished, and your departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all those you touched.
