McKindley, Rose Rose McKindley born in Brawley, CA and long time resident of Hawthorne, CA, passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on November 17th at the age of 91. She was a busy and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, generous to her family, friends, community and church. She had a passion for bingo and was an expert coupon clipper. She traveled the world and experienced most all that life could offer. Her charming laughter and stories will be sorely missed. Her Husband John William and her son Kenneth Edward precede her in death. She is survived by seven children; John William, Linda Lee, Joan Taft, Thomas Paul, Robert Henry, Donald James, Michael Anthony and their spouses. She had the fortune of 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was the adoring matriarch of a legacy family of 63 members with a set of twins on the way. A rosary service will be held at 7pm on Friday November 21, at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at St. Joseph's Church in Hawthorne at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City with a memorial reception at the Westchester Elks Lodge for a celebration of her life.

  1. While at our family Christmas celebration my mother told me about Rose’s passing. Only one year ago I visited with Rose and her daughters at my fathers services. She was her jolly self always smiling. I will long remember the holidays the Mooney family spent with the McKindley’s. I hope that the Mooney girls and the McKindley kids can reunite and keep the family friendship going. My heart goes out to each one of you… your mother will be missed.
