Romeo Joseph Labrie Romeo passed away on December 11. Born May 8, 1925 in Athol, Massachusetts, he was a longtime resident of Hermosa Beach. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, and is survived by his daughter, Michele; sons Jon and Jay; brothers Paul and Joseph; and sisters Emelda, Yvonne, and Bernadette. Rome was a veteran of WW II, serving in the 709th Military Police Battalion from 1943-1946, principally in France. He studied radio and television engineering in Chicago before moving to Southern California, where he worked as an engineer for more than 40 years. He was an avid golfer, card player and traveler; and was actively involved with the Xerox retirees club from his retirement there in 1989. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at White and Day's Manhattan Mortuary, 3215 Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 18th at 10:00 AM at American Martyrs Catholic Church, 624 15th Street in Manhattan Beach. Burial will follow with procession to Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 So. Western Ave. in Rancho Palos Verdes.

  1. We have many fond memories of our friend Rome that go back nearly 30 years. We shared many activities with him including, Golf, trips to Hawaii, XRWC activities, and most recently, poker parties. We miss him already and will for all the years to come.

  2. He was a friend and we had fun at the Xerox Retirees activities and dinner togethers. We will miss him.
