Steensen, Rodney Dean, 58, a resident of Hermosa Beach, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 26, 2007 in Torrance. Rodney was born in on April 5, 1949 in Inglewood, CA. After graduating from Thousand Oaks High School, Rodney proudly served his country in the United Stated Navy. He began his career as a Building Engineer in 1971 and continued to work in the industry until his retirement in 2007. Rodney was an avid lover of travel, art, and theater and enjoyed sailing, camping, and the outdoors. He also had a passion for building and flying airplanes and restoring old Volkswagens and Porsches. Rodney loved the adventure of and possessed a true passion for life. He could always be found with laughter in his eyes and a smile on his face. Rodney was a loving husband and devoted and proud father. He was truly loved and treasured and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his loving Wife, Dahlia Steensen of Hermosa Beach, CA, and Daughter, Bevin Berube of Thousand Oaks, CA. Preceded in death by Mother, Evelyn Steensen; Father, Karl Steensen; and Brother, Ross Steensen. The memorial service will be held at White & Day Colonial Chapel on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. Interment will be private.

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Rod for many years. He was the Chief Engineer of the the building my law firm was a tenant of. Rod was full of life and energy, he always had amazing stories and was a great friend to many. He was an Awesome guy and will be missed. My deep condolences to his wife and family.
