Robert C. Lupin Beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away Nov. 10 peacefully at home with his family at his bedside after a courageous battle with cancer and lung disease. Bob was born April 1, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA and raised in Redondo Beach where he lived his entire life. Bob's passions were his family, friends and golf. He retired from the Redondo Beach Fire Dept. as a Battalion Chief after 30 years of service. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and his wife, Katie, who was the love of his life. He is survived by 2 daughters: Marta George of Temecula and Teresa Griffitts of Corona and 2 sons; Chuck Lupin of Torrance and Mike Lupin (wife Valerie) of Simi Valley. Survivors also include 9 grandchildren: Steven, Chris, Gary, Jamie, Melissa, Alex, Patrick, Joseph and Lucy. In addition, Bob leaves 2 sisters, Esther and Lorraine, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and sister-in-law. A gathering of family and friends with visitation will be held Sunday, November 18th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 19th at 11:30 AM in Holy Cross' Risen Christ Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Cross.

  1. We have fond memories of Bob and Katie having been their neighbor for over 11 years during the late 80’s – late 90’s. We were alway treated as family. We will miss Bob’s ready laugh and cheerfulness and being able to swap golf stories. He was a wonderful man. May peace fill your hearts at this time.
