  1. Dearest Lindsey, Matt, Ian and Colin: Bill and I deeply saddened to see the notice re your dear Bob and father. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers at this very hard time for you all. Our love and sympathy, Georgia

  2. When we were in our 30’s(I’m 2 months older than Bob)we both worked for Ben Hohmann on the Mercury Program At Aerospace. At one launch at the Cape, five or six of us were having dinner in Coco Beach. As we sat ther having after-dinner coffee, we were talking to Hohmann about his exploits as a test pilot on the German rocket interceptor, and his post-war journey to the US and finally Project Mercury Program Manager. With a twinkle in his eye, and that Bob Douglass smile on his face, Bob said to Hohmann: “Just think, Ben, if Germany had won the war, you would be working for me now.” All of us, including Hohmann, laughed because we all appreciated the humor and the irony of Bob’s logical analysis.

  3. Dear Lindsey and Family I have so many wonderful memories of Bob. One of his favorite pictures was of you and baby, finally at rest after a night of cholic. His love of the English language, his music, his Pontiac, his love of the ocean, etc. But, most of all his love for his precious family. Our love and prayers, Loralea and John Crofton

  4. We were so sorry to hear about Bob. We both ushered with him over the years at the 8am Mass on Sundays. We also would run into him at times over at the Spectrum health club. It was a pleasure to know him. He will be missed. We are also sorry that we missed the services. We were out of town over Thanksgiving and did not return until late Monday. We will keep Bob and all of you in our prayers.
