  1. To Maria and family: I just found out that Bobby had passed away. I am very sorry for your loss. I am his first cousin. My grandma was Sarah Bodkin. I knew his dad Jim. I just lost my Aunt Pearl on my mom’s side and was talking to my dad (Charles Gregory) over this past weekend (Mar 3, 2008) and he told me of the news. He sent me the clipping from the Daily Breeze. I went to school with the Bodkins (Cleveland,Beryl,Hillcrest and RUHS). He sounded like a great person, military man, and loved his country. My condolenses to you and your family. Dave Gregory, Gilbert, Arizona

  2. To Bodkin family even though I didn’t keep in touch with him these last years he was always in my thoughts. Mary Hernandez

  3. Hi Grandpa..!! It was nice to have you as a grandpa..!! I will miss and love you a lot..!! Now you are in a bettter place with my dad and oso..!! We will meet again some day..!!

  4. SFC ROBERT BODKIN He will forever be missed by his cooks from the 304th cmmc. I know for me Bodkin was a great hard working man. He had a good sense of humor. We will forever be greatful for what Bodkin did for us. One last thing GOD “HE’S ALL YOURS” Bodkin knows what I am talking about.

  5. I remember Robert(i called him bobby)from elementary school in redondo beach -at Cleveland and Beryl, and it is sad that for some unknown reason we seemed to lose touch after that, even though we played football together in 7th grade while we were at hillcrest (for the beryl bombers). He was always tougher than most and kind of took care of me against the other kids. He would come over to my house many times and just hung out. I see you seem to love him dearly and it doesn’t surprise me that he was in the service so long. I lost my son in 2006 and know what pain you’re going thru. I hope that all your good memories can out weigh the pain of losing him. I thank god for letting me be a part of bobby’s life ,even though it was just for a short time. Bob Hernandez please let me know where his remains will be placed because i would like to visit him. I regret that i missed his services. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
