Richard Wesley Love

richard love
Richard Wesley Love was born on June 13, 1929 in Kaiser, West Virginia to Olive Grace (Shepp) Love and Frances Douglas Love and passed away August 26, 2010 at home. He earned a law degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Mae (Price) Love. He is survived by brothers, Frank and John. He is also survived by four children: Deborah Saks of San Antonio, Texas; Denise Harrell of Mission Viejo, CA; John Love of Redondo Beach, CA and Desiree Love of Torrance, CA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joshua, Elliot, Daisy, Jennifer, Caitlin, Jessica and Richard. After 19 years with the Social Security Adminstration, Richard and Betty entered Christian missionary service, first in the Philippines, then South Korea, and finally California. Their ministries of administration and hospitality provided much appreciated support for the Far East Broadcasting Company and then Guidelines for Living. After they retired to Hawaii, Dad helped start up Hilo Christian Broadcasting. When Mom passed on, Dad returned to California. He then provided administrative help to Go Ye Fellowship until he finally retired just a few years ago. Dick will be remembered as a quiet encourager who loved to read and loved a corny joke. He loved to sing and sang in the church choir at Rolling Hills Covenant Church. His family and friends will remember him as a gentle, unassuming, kind, sweet man. We will miss him greatly but rest in the knowledge that he is with Jesus. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Sovereign Grace Bible Church, 101 S. Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a missionary or missionary organization of your choice.
