Ollivares, Richard Lee a lifetime resident of the South Bay passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 in Torrance. Born in Redondo Beach, Richard was 70. Richard had served in the Air Force during Korea. He owned and operated an excavating business in the South Bay for over 35 years. He was a 23 year member of the Redondo B.P.O.E. #1378. Richard is survived by Alice Kerney of Torrance; his daughter Patricia Ollivares-Calliham of Lomita; son Richard Ollivares Jr. of Torrance; daughter Renee (Mike) Ollivares-Scott of Lakewood; Thomas (Evelyn) Ollivares of Tuscon, AZ; daughter Amee Ollivares of Santa Monica; brothers Alfonso (Barbara) Ollivares of Fallbrook and Raymond (Ritha) Ollivares of Redondo Beach; grandson Rick Ollivares; granddaughters Jennifer and Corinna Stier, Desiree Scott and Danielle Scott, Aubrey Ollivares and Adrienne Ollivares; grandson Andrew Ollivares; and great-grandson Richard Ollivares. Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at White and Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 1, at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 415 Vincent Street in Redondo Beach. Burial will follow with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.
