Richard H. Buchholz, a 46 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday October 19, 2017, in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Born in Chicago Illinois, Richard lived 94 wonderful years. He was an active member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church and an active member at Bel Air CC, where he loved to gather with his friends and play golf.
He served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict, rising to the rank of Major. Richard was the Aerospace VP of Purchasing for Northrop and President of Dunlop Aviation.
Richard was a man of varied interests - horses, golf, Guiding Eye Dogs for the Blind, traveling and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret; children, David and (Beth) Buchholz, Richard Buchholz Jr, Robert (Marie) Buchholz, Susan (Don) Rutter; grandchildren; Jonathan Buchholz, Traci (Greg) Rogers, Matthew Buchholz, Benjamin Buchholz and Katie Buchholz. He was preceded in death by his Brother Kenneth, and two sisters Margaret and Geraldine, and his first wife Margaret Homan.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Rancho Palos Verdes on Friday October 27, 2017 at 11am. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, followed by a reception at the Church.
