Dr. Richard A. Steinauer, D.D.S. Richard Steinauer played through on his way to heaven on Thursday, May 12, 2011, after 102 glorious years of life. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris, and his son, Jerry. He was the sixth of seven children of Anna and Nicholas Steinauer. Richard is survived by his son Jim, daughter-in-law Patti, grandson Nicholas and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Steinauer, Nebraska in the family home and was educated in the Steinauer public school. Dr. Steinauer graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1933 and was a practicing dentist for 61 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He was affiliated as a Lifetime Member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Harbor Dental Education Association, the Elks Club and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Richard was a long time active member of both Mary Star of the Sea and Holy Trinity parishes in San Pedro, and lastly was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in Hermosa Beach. An avid golfer with his beloved Doris, Doc was a member of the Navy Men’s Golf Club and the Harbor Dental Golf group. His love of family and church extended to his enjoyment of the company of his many friends and extended family members. Richard made lifetime commitments based on trust and sincerity to all those that he met. To know Richard was an acknowledged honor for all who met him and we have lost one of its kindest people. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hermosa Beach. A private interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in his honor.
