Renee A. Zubillaga, 95, died September 24, 2012, with family by her side in Hawthorne, CA. A memorial service was Saturday at Price and Day Mortuary in Manhattan Beach, CA. She was born August 4, 1917, in Silver City, New Mexico. Her father was a miner. Her mother was a homemaker. They moved to Los Angles in 1920. Renee graduated from High School. She then attended some college. She met her to be husband at where she was working. She married Fred Zubillaga August 3, 1947. Renee was a homemaker while her husband was a Lithographer. She was an active member of the St. Joseph's Church, belonged to the Hawthorne Women's club, Turtles Club and contributed to various charities. She lived life to help others. As with many of her age, Renee was part of many historic events, the Great Depression and World War II being some of them. Both of these taught her to live life fully and enjoy what you have. This also installed the values of being kind and respecting others around you. Her interests included family, gardening, knitting, baking, reading and the Dodgers. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Her loving husband of 50 years, two sons and her brother preceded her in death. Her three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her adopted daughter survive Mrs.Zubillaga, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends and their families.
