Raymond Contreras, a lifelong resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Raymond was 72 when he died. Raymond was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Raymond is survived by brother, Angel Contreras and sister, Carmen Hernandez; step-daughter Laura Oats; 22 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew. He was preceded in death by parents, Mary and Telesforo Contreras; brothers Louis and David Contreras and sisters Clarita Jenkins and Sally Hite. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rice Mortuary on Monday July 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm in the Rice Chapel. The funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Tuesday July 17, 2012 at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.

i worked at redondo towing with ray…..he was always a upbeat man….i really liked him…im sure god has a special place in heaven for him…right next to brother dave…….rip…….easy
