Long time Redondo Beach resident Rachel Garcia Herpich, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017. She was born January 5, 1932 in Gardena, CA to the parents of Ernestina and Alberto Garcia. Rachel was the fourth of seven children. Rachel and Martin Martinez had five children: Elissa (Bob), Pete (Cindy), Martin (Lee), Teresa, Dolores (Richard) and a step-daughter, Enriqueta Martinez. 1. I will always have your love in my heart for you and can’t imagine my life without you. Until we meet again and thank you for being the kindest and most loving person I know.

  2. I knew you as Mrs. Martinez, who never seemed to mind that I was always hanging around your house with Terri. You were such a kind lady, but you also knew how to keep those 5 kids of yours in line. Thank you for all of the times you would give us rides down to the Pier so that we could go to the Czue to listen to the bands and go dancing. I know you are beaming with pride on your beautiful family you raised and will continue to watch over them. You will be missed.

  3. We know you are with our Lord. May God continue to bless you and our family. We know you are enjoying heaven with all his angels and saints. We will miss you Mom more than you know!!! God Bless you forever.
