Philip Alan Freeman, 79, of Redondo Beach, California, passed away on September 4, 2022, after a long battle with Dementia.
Philip was born on March 19, 1943, to Alan and Dorothy Freeman in Santa Monica, California. After graduating from Santa Monica High School, aka Samohi, in 1961, he went on to study Engineering at UCLA.
After graduation, he served time in the U.S. Army Reserve and landed a job as a computer programmer for Hughes Aircraft, kicking off a 30‑year career in computer programming as a systems engineer.
In 1966, he began dating Patricia Burt, and they wed in 1967, going on to have three daughters: Nancy Lynn, Pamela Jean, and Deborah Diane.
After retiring in 1998, Phil spent his time with his family, traveling, playing tennis, watching UCLA football, expanding his voluminous music collection, and enjoying his favorite movies and TV shows.
Phil was predeceased by his father, Alan Robinson Freeman, and his mother, Dorothy Mary (Smith) Freeman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Diane (Burt) Freeman, 77, of Redondo Beach; his sister Mary Virginia (Freeman) Bottorff, 82, of Newbury Park; his daughter Nancy Lynn Freeman‑Cruz, 54, of Santa Monica, and her husband Carlos Luis Cruz and their children Nicholas Evan Freeman, Andrew Robinson Freeman, Daniel Freeman Cruz, Zachary Alexander Cruz, Idalis Irene Cruz, and Carlos Luis Cruz, Jr.; his daughter Pamela Jean (Freeman) Grassedonio, 52, of Burbank, and her husband Lawrence Matthews Grassedonio and their children Sophia Ann Grassedonio and Amanda Grace Grassedonio; and his daughter Deborah Diane Freeman, 50, of Redondo Beach.
Services for Phil will be held at the Lighthouse Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Boulevard, in Torrance, California, on October 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.

Philip was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
