Peter Barks, a lifelong resident of Hermosa Beach, CA, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Torrance Memorial Hospital. Born In Hermosa Beach, California Peter was 77 years old when he died. Peter battled and lost his fight with cancer.
Peter graduated from South Elementary School, Valley Vista School, Pier Ave Jr. High School (all in Hermosa Beach) and Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach. He worked in the Barks grocery store in Hermosa Beach and proudly served in the US Army from 1965-71.
Peter had a love for model airplanes and cars, especially Fords. He also loved auto racing, especially Nascar stock car racing. He is survived by his brother George Barks, nephews George Barks Jr. and Morris Barks, nieces Georgia Barks Williams, Helen Barks, Becky Barks Valencia, sister-in-law Mabel Barks. He is preceded in death by his parents Guss A. Barks, Magdaline Barks, and brothers Guss and Jim.
