Scavone, Peter Andrew Born April 3, 1944 in Hermosa Beach, CA, and resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Peter Scavone passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 in Torrance, CA. His great heart and beautiful soul touched all with whom he came into contact. Peter served in the Vietnam War and worked in retail for seventeen years. He was with the postal service for 23 years where he was well loved and respected by his co-workers and those on his postal route. Peter loved to fish with his many friends and his favorite fishing buddy was his mom. He was a sports fan and an avid Raider fan. In the last few years he developed a love/hate relationship with the computer and had a special passion for Ebay. He was the heart and soul of the annual family reunion where he loved playing bocci ball. Peter is survived by his partner of many years, Cecelia Barrett, mother Fannie Scavone, son Christopher and his fiancee Noelle Lalario, Sister Rosemarie Scavone, Brother Sam (Eileen) Scavone, brother Dan Scavone and large extended family. He was a Fuzzy Bear to his partner's granddaughters Casey, Emily, Maggie and Josie. He is preceded in death by his father Salvatore Scavone. He will be greatly missed by his close SALOKUM friends and his co-workers at the Post Office. A prayer vigil will be held Tuesday, October 11 at 7:00 P.M. and a funeral mass Wednesday, October 12 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, followed by a celebration of life at their home. A graveside service will be held at Merced District Cemetery, followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Merced family home. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the disabled American Veterans or a charity of choice.
