Patricia
Patricia Joan Thomas, 70 passed away January 21, 2006. Born in Montreal on April 6, 1935, she was the only daughter of William C. and Hilda Murray. Pat grew up in Glen Ridge, NJ, attending Glen Ridge High School. She is a 1956 graduate of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, later practicing as a registered nurse. Pat succumbed to cancer after a valiant struggle. The cancer spread as a result of a weakened immune system following medication for a liver transplant in 1995. Pat was a true lover of nature and enjoyed many trips to the outdoors, including camping with her dog Duke and children in the local mountains, cross country skiing, and trips to the desert. Pat also loved to travel abroad visiting many far-flung countries including Scotland (her heritage). Pat was a long-time volunteer at Little Company of Mary Hospital and at her son's sport leagues. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Liver Foundation. Pat is succeeded by her husband of 47 years Ron Thomas, her loving children, Debbie, Ron, Scott and Todd, and her grandchildren Brigette, Guy, Jack and Cole. This remarkable woman was beloved by those who came in contact with her. We will all miss her and cherish the many wonderful memories. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 11AM at Rice Chapel, 5310 Torrance Bl., Torrance, CA.
