  1. Alan, Emily, Grant and Travis, I just received your Christmas card and I am stunned. The first thing that I noticed was the picture on the front and I spoke out loud to Ron, “Where is Peka?”. Then I opened the card. Devestating. Even though it has been so many years since we have seen each other, Kirstie still has a picture or two of she and Emily as toddlers and then again as 5 or 6 year olds in frames in her room. I can’t believe a woman as full of spirit as Peka is gone. The questions abound and it seems so unfair…and it is. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Alan and Emily, Grant and Travis and you too, Peka. Love, The Boatrights, Ron, Shelley, Kirstie and Tyler.

  2. While I never got to know Peka, I know Alan and I kow of his love for you. His pain is daily and his love for you often expressed. Peace be with you, Alan and the kids.

  3. My wife Pamela Meersand, known as Peka to her family and close friends, and the mother of our 3 children Emily (18), and twin sons Grant and Travis (12), was the most profoundly kind, loving, caring, amazing person i have ever known. She was truly a happy, contented human being, with a bright future and everything to live for. She was so full of life. Her passing is a crushing, devastating blow to our family. The pain is searing, and we are truly heartbroken. I pray for the strength to handle the challenge of being strong for my 3 children. I will pray every day for the rest of my life on this Earth that i will be re-united with Peka in the next life. She was one of a kind, and i will NEVER forget her. I loved and respected her deeply. She was a truly beautiful, exquisite woman. Peka, I WILL LOVE YOU FOR ALL TIME AND ETERNITY.

  4. Dearest Alan,Emily, Travis and Grant; We are so deeply, profoundly saddened to learn about Peka. We cannot imagine the grief that you must be experiencing right now. Our hearts break for you so much and we only wish that there was something, anything we could do to comfort you and to ease your pain. She was such a wonderful woman, and her passing is impossible to comprehend. Our prayers are being sent to you this very moment and we will continue to pray for all of you. There are really no words that have been written or thought that could bring to you what you need right now, but know that we hold you closely in our thoughts and prayers so that you may go onto to live full lives despite this unfair and unbelievable tragedy. We are here for any and all of you for anything you may need. With deepest sympathy.

  5. Dear Grant (and family), I was so shocked and sad to read of your mother’s death. I didn’t know her, but in working with you & getting to know you during 6th grade, I’m sure she must have been very special to have helped raise such a kind and wonderful son. You are all in my thoughts and prayers…. Elizabeth Porter

  7. To Peka’s family, My heart and prayers go out to each of you. Many people we went to school with have called and would like to send their condolences. Your family will be on many prayer lists in this community. Marcia Mayo

  8. Our hearts are breaking for all of you. The wonderful memories are numerous because the time spent with Peka, Alan, Emily, Grant and Travis was always filled with laughter. Peka loved to laugh and always was gracious with her home and like to see others have a good time. One of my fondest memories is the time she visited right after the boys were born and she handled the crying twins like a pro. Rocking one in her arms and rocking the other in his carrier on the floor with her foot. An amazing thing and a whole new side to Peka at that time. I admired her greatly, she had an abundance of love for others, especially her family. She will never be forgotten.
