Ashford, Oscar William, a resident of Torrance, CA, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Oscar was born on January 25, 1957, at Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento, CA. Oscar graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Northridge. After graduation, he pursued a career in engineering in the aerospace and defense industry. At the time of his death, Oscar was a Senior Research & Development Engineer with Measurement Analysis Corporation. Oscar enjoyed traveling to Hawaii with his family for their summer vacations. He and his family also enjoyed frequent visits to the Disneyland Resort. Oscar was a fan of science fiction and had a large collection of sci-fi books and DVDs. In recent years, he became a huge fan of online gaming and loved spending his free time questing throughout the World of Warcraft. Oscar is survived by his wife of 23 years Holly Ashford, son Harrison Ashford, sister Cynthia Ferguson, and brothers Christopher Ashford and Anthony Ashford. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. Memorial Services will begin at 10:00 AM with a reception to follow at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Oscar's memory to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.
